In 1984, Solstice opened shop with the idealistic notion that a small company could make superior outdoor clothing, charge a fair price for it and have some good, clean, Northwest fun in the off time. Solstice hasn't really changed their attitude about that in over 20 years, but the outdoor industry sure has changed. At Solstice, they've stuck to making good outdoor clothing better; and this season isn't any different. Studying the science of dressing for the elements on extended hikes in the rain-soaked Columbia Gorge, glacier skiing on Mt. Hood or camping on the rugged Oregon coast, Solstice has learned a lot about outerwear in the last 20 years. They have learned the hard way what it takes to keep you warm and dry. And Solstice knows the outdoor experience is much more enjoyable when you have the right gear.
